Food Security
What is food security?Food security is when people have access(economic, physical and social) to sufficient amounts of nutritious, safe food in order for them to maintain a healthy life. This means that enough of right foods need to be produced and then provided for even the poorest most remote people to access them.
How window gardens increase food security?
Growing food helps people to have more access to healthy and nutritious food such as herbs and vegetables and will stop people buying things like Pap which is cheap but not very nutritious. Growing food helps to save money as you no longer have to buy the individual products each time you need them and will only need to buy seeds and can use that extra money you saved for other useful things such as education. Window gardens can be made in a very small space meaning that poor people with almost no resources can access nutritious food.
